in Boracay

My first Boracay trip was fun and exciting at the same time; short, cloudy, rainy, and even if we almost got stranded in the island due to bad weather, we still enjoyed every second of this vacation. This was also my first trip with my college friends, the trip that triggered all the succeeding trips in the months and years to come. Why did we choose Boracay for our first destination? Well, we didn't really discuss why we chose to go to Boracay, one suggested and we just all agreed to go there; after all, it is the most famous tourist destination in the Philippines if we're talking about beaches. It's famous powdery white sand beach is something you would want to see and feel for your self, and for me it's the benchmark for all the beaches in the country or maybe even in the world because it is the best beach I've ever seen by far, powdery and very white (really, I'm only basing my best-beach-in-the-world on two things - if it's sand is white and powdery). Too bad the weather was a bit bad when we got there so the sea is not blue; I guess it's only natural since it was almost rainy season, literally, 30th of May to 2nd of June, when we went on this trip in 2009.

At UST, our meeting place. Picture taking while waiting for our ride to the airport.
When we were in UST, it was sunny, hot, typical summer weather. But as we were leaving, the dark clouds started to form and the sun hid behind them. At the airport, while we wait for boarding, it started to rain really hard, and because of that our flight got delayed. Which means, more picture taking while we kill the time.

Dark clouds and heavy rain welcomed us in Caticlan, not the view that we've expected.

Since our flight got delayed, we arrived in La Carmela de Boracay late in the afternoon. After a few minutes rest and freshening up, we headed out to grab some dinner (more like BIG dinner because it was a buffet) and just explored the beach at night. The rain and wind was so mad when we got out of the hotel, good thing it was peaceful again after we're done eating so we were able to stroll along the beach and goof around.

Because the weather was still gloomy, we just enjoyed swimming at the pool.

The next day, the sun decided to show up. Yahoo! Beach bumming time!

Thank God the weather cooperated, at least for this day, we were able to go parasailing.
